Twenty-one-year-old Matthew Jackson is a Guernsey islander with a passion for American football. So much so that he makes a 360-mile round trip to attend training sessions at the Sussex Thunder.

Matthew leaves his home every Sunday at 5.30am to make the trip to Crawley, in Sussex. He flies from Guernsey to Gatwick where he is met by a team-mate.

Matthew used to play for the Guernsey Islanders but, when the team folded, he wanted to keep up his involvement in the sport. At the time of writing he was still looking for someone to sponsor him.

You can read more about Matthew's story in Issue One of Inside American Football.
